Following its involvement with and support for PRD’s Action Plan to revitalise Sutton’s town centre, Successful Sutton Business Improvement District (BID)commissioned PRD to develop a focused Action Plan to support the ailing market area towards the north end of the town centre.

The Plan proposes a suite of focused interventions which address the key challenges and opportunities faced by local businesses in this area. For example, the market suffers from its somewhat isolated location away from the main Station, poor quality public realm and a limited offering.

A survey of levy-paying local businesses and stall holders was undertakenas part of this commission, to ensure that the views of local stakeholders were at the heart of this process.

The proposals cover a range of issues including market management, public realm, support for local businesses, presentation of the market and diversification of the offer in the market area through innovative pop-up uses.
