Established in December 2008, the Tunbridge Wells Regeneration Company (TWRC) was constituted as a 50:50 Joint Venture Company between John Laing Plc and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.
One of the first Asset Backed Vehicles of its kind the partnership had a remit to look at 38 development sites that have been identified to deliver holistic regeneration and development, including looking at alternative Council office sites and a sympathetic redevelopment of the Civic Hub, to provide much needed mixed-use, modern facilities for the Town.
Martin and Daniel were involved in developing and mobilising John Laing’s Property Partnerships, which included serving as Board Directors for TWRC. This involved developing and progressing the business plan for the venture and proposed developments; making representations into the emerging strategic planning framework on behalf of TWRC and undertaking a significant stakeholder consultation exercise, to engage over 60,000 residents and other stakeholders in shaping the strategic approach to the regeneration of Tunbridge Wells’ town centre.
